Client: Barnardos Australia Barnardos Australia is a long established charitable organisation caring for children. Thanks in part to a number of generous bequests Barnardos are constantly expanding their programs to support disadvantaged young people. With a large number of programs in different centres as well as employees who work across different programs, budgeting was taking up considerable resources. Barnardos also needed a quicker and easier way to prepare management reports. They used Sage Accpac ERP for Accounting and wanted to build a business intelligence structure on that base. ERP Business Solutions Strategy: Sage Accpac Insight was implemented. This business intelligence tool draws on the accounting system for data as well as payroll and asset register data. Insight can interrogate a number of different databases to create management reports with the all important drill down facility. Insight enabled the automatic deployment of reports by email to all the stakeholders on a regular basis as well as a comprehensive platform for budgeting and budget writeback. ERP Business Solutions Outcomes: Time taken to produce regular financial reports has been reduced and deployment to the relevant managers has been made easier with Insight's report distribution system. This makes for greater transparency across the organisations finances. The Insight Enterprise Budgeting system has enabled more accurate and quicker program budgeting using several sources of input data. Investment: Insight Reporting and Budgeting - $15,000 Return On Investment : Time saved on periodic report generation $19,200 in the first year. Time saved in budgeting in the first year $24,000.
